Raise Foundation is an industry leading youth mentoring charity who provides support for teenagers in high schools right across Australia through their mentoring program.
Raise were looking for a way to connect emotionally with prospective donors and mentors to ensure the continued growth of their signature Raise Mentor Program.
The team at Raise wanted to showcase the impact the Raise Mentoring Program has on young people to connect with prospective mentors, donors, and supporters.
We worked with their team to create a series of three authentic and personal story videos that convey real experiences of the Raise Mentor Program.
Each of these videos featured a young person speaking openly and authentically about their mentee experience.
Through a purposefully and carefully planned interview-led approach and applying our Safe Storytelling approach, we ensured the responses came across as genuine, subtle and nuanced.
The narrative of each video was finely balanced to be powerful and poignant, without being forced or manipulated to connect emotionally with the viewer, elevate the brand's message, and appeal to a broad audience as authentic storytelling content.
We filmed in a studio using a multi-camera set-up to create a "behind-the-scenes" style for the content which visually supported the relaxed and candid nature of the personal stories.
Projection was also utilised to add visual texture and to ensure the content was contemporary and a reflection of a forward-thinking, professional brand.
On set our Safe Storytelling approach was utilised to keep the subjects feeling comfortable, relaxed, and safe to share their story. Careful planning during pre-production ensured the crew were able to capture the content while maintaining a healthy on-set environment for everyone involved.
Photos and images of each speaker at various stages of their life were projected in front of them throughout each story. These images elevated the narrative and supported the speaker in embodying their story and connecting emotionally to their past self.
Raise discovered that the videos have invaluable impact when they use it at an event or show it in a presentation to a new prospect corporate.
The video creates emotion and stops people in their tracks, increasing their new mentor sign ups and donor support as they witness the monumental difference a mentor can have on a young person.
The final suite of videos are highly impactful and engaging evergreen content that the Raise team are able to multi-purpose for their website, newsletters and EDM's, and live events.
